On a transfer

A transfer has a sender and a recipient. Either side can be a person or a merchant.

When a side is a merchant, you then pick that merchant’s location. That is the branch: a saved place, a place from the map, or an address you name, such as Downtown Branch. The name under the merchant is that location. It is where the money went.

This is not the Location chip on an expense. It also does not settle what people owe each other. Recording a person-to-person payment is Settle balances. Saving it does not change what people owe.

The Add transfer switch on an expense is this same merchant payment. It is not settle-up. See On an expense.
