Groups, roles, and visibility

The person who creates the group is the admin. People added later start as members. A coordinator has the same extra actions as an admin.

You see a person’s role on Members.

Who can do what

Admin and coordinator can:

  • Edit the group
  • Invite and add people
  • Log expenses
  • Approve members
  • Manage settlements and budgets

A member does not edit the group, and does not manage settlements or budgets. A member can log expenses, invite, add people, and approve members only while the group leaves those on.

Public and private

A public group can be found while it is still accepting members. A private group is only for members and people invited in. A new group starts public.

How someone joins is in Invite members. Whether they join immediately or get an invite depends on their settings in What a connection allows.
