Split an expense
Paid by is who put the money in. Split Between is who shares the cost. They can be the same people, or not. See Paid by vs sharers.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in
Steps
- On the home wallet, open the create sheet and choose Expense.
- Give the bill a name. A description is optional. Choose the currency for the amount, then enter the amount.
- Under Paid by, add each person who paid and how much they paid.
- Under Split Between, add each person who shares the cost and their share.
- The shares should add up to the amount. For each person, net is the amount they paid minus their share. A positive net means they are owed. A negative net means they owe.
- If you put the expense in a group, everyone under Paid by and Split Between must already be in that group, or you add the missing people to the group as you save. If you do neither, the save is refused.
- Save.
