One person can pay the rent or the grocery run. The people who share it each take their part. Net is what someone paid minus their share.
Split by item
A receipt can hold more than one type. Groceries and produce can both sit under Food. A budget on Food covers both. A budget on Groceries covers only that type.
A shared budget
A shared budget follows the people on the expense. A soft cap warns. A hard cap can refuse a new expense.
